The tournament games or any games that you'd fancy giving a try with others there when tournaments aren't going on :)

i had a thought for a non tourney game, if we all have minecraft, (if not we can set the server to offline mode and use my account) i can set up a lan server and we could do a multiplayer survival challenge, with the weeping angels mod (shown here : http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Xj446LPEy7E ) and see whou can survive with only a pick axe.

Serious sam HD was in the steam sales, doing that for an hour, 16 player co-op would be a laugh!

The problem we find though is that the Steam versions are always uncompatible with the pikey "backup version". So even when like you and me, we have working Steam versions it never quite works out that :P

Either everyone uses a legit copy or we all use pikey ones! 8-)

Other joys with Steam some possibly forgetting to set to offline. Some forgetting to update, so chance of people having different versions of things. Hence all having a backup and therefore the same version. This being why Friday is always kept for people arriving, prepping and setting up. So all ready to go when things kick in on the Saturday morning. Friday also handy for getting in some practice too :). When tournaments aren't going on am more than happy for people to play what they fancy, setting up random games :)

For Steam we need to setup a Windows Homegroup and all use the same code, then everyone has the Steam client offline 9pm the night before the LAN with all games updated to the latest version and everyone has the legit one and it should work.

Millions of people have no issue with Steam, our issues at the LAN can only be attributed to one thing

User error
